In 1958 Vocalist Ray Humphries put together a skiffle band the original band members were Ray Humphries, Graham Buckingham, Bob Bradley and Malcolm Jones .
By the 1960s the band had evolved into Danny Ray and the Rave ons, (Danny Ray being Ray Humphries) pictured above front of stage, just off stage in the wings is Mark Raymond who Joined the band in September 1961,the gig was at the Dell in Muntz park Stirchly Birmingham
Written on a page seven of the Merseybeat 23rd August 1962 you will see Bob Wooler's address and phone number at the cavern. He had gone to see The Rayvons play at the Majestic Ballroom Birkenhead and wanted to book them for the Cavern. No one had anything to write on except Mark who had purchased a copy of (Mersey Beat ) to read about the new Beatles line up after Pete Best was fired! Bob Wooler wrote down his phone number and told the band to ring him which they did and played at the Cavern many times.The band were managed at the time by Terry Blood (Terry Blood Records) and Chris Burton from Stoke
